For years, Dr. Sara has researched lasers which purport to grow hair or speed wound healing - and due to her interest in lasers in general she has actively investigated whether these devices will be able to help her patients who have no other medical or surgical options. 

Current lasers for wound healing have established positive scientific evidence. So, too is the evidence for improvement in hair growth.  Initial studies have shown:

•  85% success rate with halting hair loss progression
•  Up to 39% increase in fullness

For those patients who have recently had hair restoration surgery, Dr. Wasserbauer is now offering free treatment with the Revage 670 laser as seen on The Doctors. This is a low-level laser treatment for thinning hair that has been approved for safety by the FDA. Patients who might also benefit from laser hair treatment include:

•  Patients with thin hair but not complete loss
•  Patients with diffuse hair loss
•  Patients who cannot take drugs or are not candidates for surgery

Treatments are 20-30 minutes twice per week for the first 6 weeks and the once per week thereafter.  Typically, patients find the best results with ongoing therapy or periodic maintenance visits, but since the sessions can be self-administered (you sign yourself in each time) the regimen is very flexible.
